He is also an active angel investor in these sectors. Anil mentors founders across Europe and the Middle East, drawing on his extensive legal and business expertise.
He has been involved in a wide range of sectors including agritech, biotech, cleantech, fintech, food production, infrastructure, media, mobility, and sport. Notably, he was an advisory board member and audit committee member at Careem from its inception in 2012 until its sale to Uber in 2020. He currently serves as General Counsel for Pure Harvest Smart Farms.
Anil is a qualified lawyer in England and Hong Kong, with experience across Europe, MENA, and Asia in areas such as project finance, real estate, venture capital, private equity, technology, and sport. He spent over ten years with Allen & Overy in London and the Middle East and played a significant role as Deputy Head of Legal at the London 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority, responsible for the legal aspects of the Olympic Stadium and other key assets and venues for London 2012.
